[:en]If I’m correct this landhuis has opened its doors in September 2014. So that is quite recent. When I was on Curaçao this august with the family we were on our way to the lovely beach of Playa Lagun and accidently  noticed the sign making us aware of this landhuis.  Landhuis Klein Santa Martha. So this is not the big one, but the smaller of the two. Spectacular views and a suprisingly good restaurant.

Being back on the island yesterday I decided to have my dinner here at this restaurant. A tuesday night seems to be a quite night as I was the only one in the restaurant. The other nights, as I’ve noticed, are usually quite busy so it is advised to make reservations upfront.

What did I order:
I started with the Mustard Soup. I had the bacon replaced by smoked chicken as I don’t like pork.
The soop was served quickly with a small bread with it and a nice conversation with the Dutch cook who lives on the island for more than 15 years already. His story was one I heard many times before. He came to the island more than 20 years ago while sailing (job related) , fell in love with the beauty of Curaçao and way of life and instantly knew he had to come back. And so he did. Fell in love again and again and has a pleasant life. And knows how to cook.

The main dish was the daily catch: Tuna.
One of my favourites. brought in by the Curaçao fishermen and deliciously prepared by my new friend.  The tuna came with a Tsaziki sauce (Greek style), some vegetables, french fries and arroz moro (creool rice). The combination itself I found a bit too much. The Tsaziki overtakes the taste of lovely tuna and french fries and rice isnt necessary either. But the tuna itself was fantastic.

Recommended when you’re on Banda’bou.
Lovely view, great sunset, good food. Price was okay.[:]
